Polarnode expands its Board of Directors as growth continues

Following two successful project sales in the first half of 2026 alone and with an expanding pace of development in both Finland and Sweden, the Board is reinforced with highly seasoned experts. Mrs. Katja Koponen has held leadership and business development roles in the energy sector for more than a decade. She currently serves as Chief Business Development Officer and a member of the Executive Management Team at Suur-Savon Sähkö Oy. She is also a member of TSO Fingrid’s Electricity Market Committee. Katja possesses extensive expertise in Finnish and Nordic electricity markets and related legislation. She has contributed to the development of energy market regulation serving as a member of the working group responsible for amendments to Finland’s Electricity Market Act.

Mr. Ville Hailikari has over 25 years of experience as an attorney and specializes in corporate M&A and other transactions, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He is currently a partner at Krogerus Attorneys Ltd., one of Finland’s leading law firms. He regularly advises both international and domestic investors, financiers, project developers, and other energy sector players – offering not only legal expertise but also a broad commercial and strategic perspective on assignments and industry development. Ville has been recognized as one of the industry’s leading experts for several consecutive years by international industry rating organizations. He is a member of the Finnish Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the International Project Finance Association.

“The shareholders of Polarnode welcome these great additions to our Board, and look very much forward to taking the company to the next level. We can’t think of a better match for Polarnode than what these individuals truly deliver”, says Mikko Toivanen, Co-Founder & Chairman of the Board at Polarnode.

Polarnode’s development model focuses on creating investment-ready data center sites by securing land, zoning, permits, and grid connections before bringing in operators and investors. This approach significantly reduces development risk and accelerates time to market for acquiring parties.
